Project: CityWave
Location: Milan, Italy
On 9 April 2025, a traditional Italian flag-raising ceremony was held at the CityWave construction site in CityLife, marking the completion of the main structural works and the beginning of a new phase of construction. The ceremony was attended by representatives of CityLife and Generali, the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala, members of the project teams and Bjarke Ingels, founder of BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group.
Designed by BIG, CityWave was selected through an invited competition involving six international architecture studios. Construction began in August 2023, with completion scheduled for 2026.
